An Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) cleaning system is designed to remove residues from used IBC totes quickly and efficiently. These systems typically include a pump, a cleaning head, a control switch, an IBC‑lid mounting lance, and the required hoses and connectors.
The cleaning head sits inside the IBC, held securely in place by threading the lance into the container’s lid. Once assembled, the system delivers pressurised water through the cleaning head to wash the internal surfaces of the container.

How to Operate the IBC Cleaning System
1. Insert and secure the lance
Thread the lance into the IBC lid and lower it into the container, ensuring it is firmly secured.
2. Connect the lance to the pump
Attach the lance and pipework to the pump using the provided hoses and fittings.
3. Connect the pump to a water supply
Ensure the pump is supplied with suitable mains water or another approved water source.
4. Start the system
Use the on/off control switch to operate the cleaning cycle.
5. Move to the next container
Once cleaning is complete, remove the lance and insert it into the next IBC requiring cleaning.
Important Considerations
- Always ensure the tap valve at the bottom of the IBC is open to allow wash water to drain. This prevents the container from filling during cleaning and ensures the cleaning head remains effective.
- Plan how the run‑off water will be handled. The appropriate disposal method depends on the type of residue being cleaned.
