Despite its proven success, some scepticism about the StormBlaster™ system remains. Why?
1. Limited Familiarity in the Water Industry
Rotary jet cleaners are widely used in industries like food, beverage, chemical and petrochemical as the gold standard for tank cleaning. In contrast, the water industry gives less attention to tank cleaning, leading to scepticism.
2. Past Failures with Inappropriate Technology
Previous attempts to adapt food-industry rotary jet cleaners for storm tanks failed. These cleaners struggled with harsh outdoor conditions, contaminants and storm tank environments. The StormBlaster™ was specifically adapted from marine tank cleaning technology, designed to handle harsh environments, including oil tankers.
3. Specialised Design and Protocols
Early designs overlooked the unique requirements of storm tanks, such as size, shape, and cleaning layouts. Over the last 8 years, we’ve developed precise cleaning protocols, optimal cleaner positioning and the correct flow rates for effective results.
Today, there are over 130 StormBlaster™ units successfully deployed across the UK, Ireland, and France and there are numerous projects currently on the go. The system has demonstrated consistent and effective performance in a huge variety of storm tank configurations and is becoming established as the go-to cleaning solution for storm tanks.
