Nozzle size and profile considerations for spray injection applications

If injecting fluid into a pipe then the less cutting into the pipe work to insert the nozzle the better.  Low profile nozzles with a short length are thus desirable.  Some nozzle designs, such as tangential whirl nozzles, lend themselves well to such injection applications.  However, their spray characteristics are somewhat limited and so often other designs are required.
