Spraying in hostile environments

Often in spray applications at power stations the surrounding environment is hot and turbulent.  This can necessitate special material nozzles.  Ceramics are often a good choice.  Whilst they may be more brittle than their metal alloy counterparts the superior heat and abrasion resistance of ceramics makes them the logical choice.  If brittleness is a concern then abrasion and heat resistant metal alloys can be utilised instead.
