Fluid distribution

In a trickling filter, wastewater is distributed over stone or structured plastic media that supports a biologically active film.

Full cone nozzles provide broad, consistent coverage, helping the wastewater flow evenly through the media. This reduces dry areas and localised overloading, ensuring that the microorganisms receive the wastewater and nutrients required for effective biological treatment.

The most suitable design will depend on factors including the required flow rate, operating pressure, spray angle, nozzle spacing and the solids present in the wastewater. MaxiPass nozzles offer a particularly large free passage, helping to reduce the risk of blockage in applications involving particle-laden liquids.
